Chantry Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 25, 2026

1. About this policy

Chantry is offered by The Teach Collective LLC, a California limited liability company ("we," "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Chantry website at chantry.work, the Chantry mobile app, our beta program and our text messages (together, "Chantry"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

People come to Chantry with real things on their minds. We take that seriously: we collect only what we need to run Chantry well, we never sell your information, and what you write in the app is yours.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you sign up for updates or founding pricing, we collect your name and email address. If you join the beta, we also collect your mobile number (if you choose to receive texts), the type of phone you use, and your answers to beta surveys and feedback forms. If you contact us, we keep your message and our reply.

What you write and do in the app. This includes your onboarding answers and results, your tone setting, reflections and journal entries, Trail Log entries, check-ins, messages you write in Talk it through, and your progress, such as cards and sessions completed.

Purchase information. Subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle your payment, and we don't receive your card number. We receive information about your subscription, such as its status and renewal date.

Information collected automatically. When you use our website or app, we and our service providers may collect basic technical information, such as device and browser type, IP address, pages or screens viewed, and crash reports, to keep Chantry working and understand how it's used. Our website may use cookies for this purpose; you can control cookies through your browser settings.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to provide and personalize Chantry, including recommending trails and cards that fit your situation; to manage your account and subscription; to run the beta and act on feedback; to send you service messages and replies by email or text; to send updates about Chantry if you've signed up for them (you can unsubscribe at any time); to keep Chantry secure and fix problems; and to meet our legal obligations.

4. Your reflections

What you write in Chantry can be personal. It may touch on your work, your health, your relationships or your faith. We use it only to provide Chantry's features to you. We don't sell it, use it for advertising, or read it except where needed to fix a problem you've reported, keep Chantry safe, or comply with the law.

5. AI features

When you use an AI feature such as Talk it through, what you write is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. Our provider processes it on our behalf and [does not use it to train its models under our agreement with them]. We also run safety checks on these messages so Chantry can point you to support if what you've shared sounds like more than a work problem. Please don't share passwords, financial account numbers or other people's private details in Talk it through.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

We share information only with service providers who help us run Chantry, and only as needed for them to do that work for us. They include our website and email platform, app hosting and storage, survey and form tools, our text-messaging provider, our AI provider, and Apple and Google for app distribution and subscriptions. These providers are required to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

7. Text messages

If you opt in to text messages, we use your mobile number only to send you the customer care messages you agreed to receive, such as beta reminders, app updates and replies to your questions. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the provider that delivers our messages.

Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

8. How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Chantry. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your information, we'll delete it within [30] days, except where we need to keep certain records, such as subscription records, for legal or accounting reasons. Beta information is kept for [period] after the beta ends.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and limited access by our team. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect what you share with us.

10. Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to send you a copy of it. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, opt out of texts by replying STOP, and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings. To make a request, email kim@chantry.work. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

California residents. California law gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law. Our website does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
